"World of Warcraft players are being invited to participate in a study being conducted by Katrina Hovey, an Honours student in the Psychology Department at the University of New Brunswick, and Supervised by Dr. Richard Nicki. The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between several personality traits and internet gaming habits. The survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and to thank you for taking the time to participate, we are giving away a 3-month World of Warcraft membership to 5 random participants. For your privacy, identifying information taken for the purpose of prize distribution will be stored separately from your survey answers. The chance of winning a prize depends on the number of participants and is expected to be 1/50. As a master’s candidate in Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State, my research interests are focused around fan-generated artwork within online communities. As a World of Warcraft player, I know that the game inspires a large amount of fan-generated drawings, paintings, comics, and movies. wow honor (In fact, I’m working on some Valentine’s Day WoW art right now that I’d like to upload to the fanart section here on the site .) For my thesis, I’m researching how the WoW community responds to this sort of art. What I would like you to do is take a short survey about some of your WoW playing experiences as well as general knowledge of fan artwork (though you don’t necessarily need experience with fan artwork in order to take the survey). The survey is available here: gm4o9RjA_3d_3d Also, at the end of the survey you will have the option to provide contact information so that I can get in touch with you to conduct a 30-45 minute interview about fan artwork and its role in the World of Warcraft community.
guild wars gold The interview is completely optional but if you are interested after taking the survey, I will email you more information. " "We regularly get requests to recruit members to participate in research for university courses or general surveys and rather than have rule forbidding them we feel a happy compromise would be to create a thread in which to post your requests. This way they don't overrun the forums but members interested in taking part know where to find the latest opportunities to get involved. This thread is for surveys and research relevant to MMOs/RPGs or gaming in general. cheap wow gold Do not post if you are wishing to sell something to participants. I check all surveys for any funny business Thanks Elly Admin, WoW.IncGamers I'm a university student doing some work on reputation systems in different online environments, one of which is World of Warcraft. I'm looking at how character signal their reputation and skills to other players, in ways such as item use, dress, dancing, guild membership, etc. wow level up Note that I am not as interested, for now, in the formal reputation points one builds up with different races, factions, etc. At this stage, I am most interested in stories and general thoughts–not conducting formal empirical work yet. So, if you are interested and wouldn't mind, I'd appreciate any thoughts on how you evaluate other players' skills and experience, as well as how you show people that you know what you are doing. Anything would help! "
